LFP.es editors select Liga Adelante team of the month for December

The Liga Adelante ended 2014 with plenty of excitement and football. The LFP.es editors have selected eleven players who, in our view, have been the most outstanding in December, playing a central role for their teams.

In goal we chose Antonio Adán. The Real Betis keeper has been a key man in his team’s revival, with four straight victories in as many rounds. A brilliant month in which Adán contributed by keeping a clean sheet with his impossible saves at full stretch.

The right back spot goes to the R. Sporting player, Alberto Lora, who is in great form, playing every possible minute so far this season and helping his team remain unbeaten with his strength in defence. The centre of defence will feature Martín Mantovani and César Caneda, who with their experience and consistency have helped CD Mirandés perform well in recent rounds. The CD Leganés centre back, meanwhile, in addition to being impassible at the back, scored a goal against CD Sabadell to earn the three points for his team. Finally, we went for Jordi Figueras, whose versatility means he can play on the left or right and earns him a place in the team of the month, having helped his side settle into third place in the championship. 

The midfield is made up of Nauzet Alemán, Julio Álvarez and Johan Mojica. The great potential and penetration of the player for league-leaders UD Las Palmas have been on display with his two goals in December. Julio Álvarez, meanwhile, has been actively involved in the good work of CD Numancia, with one win and two draws, while the Valladolid CF midfielder has scored three goals in the last three games.

Sergio Araujo, Yuri De Souza and Urko Vera provide the dynamite in our chosen eleven. The Argentine striker never gives up and has been one of the sensations of the Liga Adelante this season. In December he scored two important goals that helped the Canary Islands club stay top. The SD Ponferradina player also bagged two goals, taking his tally to 10 this season. Urko Vera, the CD Mirandés forward, is the final piece in the puzzle which, with his three goals and threat in the opposition area, contributed to his team’s two wins and one draw in recent weeks.
