Manuel Quintanar, the Liga de Fútbol Profesional Integrity Manager, brought to a close the 1st National Security and Integrity Seminar this Wednesday. The LFP representative thanked all the participants and organisers for their involvement and presence in this event, and he stressed "the importance of having held this meeting to share experiences both with the police and with supporters".

The Integrity Manager was entrusted by the LFP to "organise this meeting annually in order to share experiences, learn about problems and move forward in the search for solutions". The manager also added that one of the aims of the seminar was to "establish guideline criteria on security for the Liga de Fútbol Profesional". Quintanar stressed that "establishing regular security meetings with the Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante clubs" will be one of La Liga’s missions.

Ignacio Cosidó, the Director-General of the Police, thanked the participants in the National Seminar for "what they are doing in favour of security in our sport". Cosidó also added that "There is no doubt we have the best league in the world, but it is also the safest. This is thanks to the collaboration and involvement of the clubs, supporters, private security firms and State security forces". The Director-General of the Police urged the participants to continue to persevere in meeting the challenges posed. "Beyond the work of the police or private security, we have to work together to carry out educational and preventative work with the supporters in order to eradicate violence".

Meanwhile, José María Suárez, president of Aficiones Unidas, thanked the Liga de Fútbol Profesional and its president Javier Tebas for "their treatment of supporters and the work they have done with us during this Seminar". Manuel Alonso, the Prosegur Spain security manager, was also present and recognised "the work of the State security forces, the security guards and the teams’ security managers, enabling supporters to enjoy the celebration that is football".
