Levante UD visit the Nuevo Los Cármenes Stadium to face Granada CF on matchday 5 of the Liga BBVA. The Rojiblancos go into the match in good form after beating Athletic Club at the San Mamés, the first team to come away unbeaten from the new ground in the league championship. The visitors, who will go up against their former manager Joaquín Caparrós, will look for a victory to make up for the heavy blow they suffered against FC Barcelona (0-5) in the last round.
Team news
The Granada manager will be without the injured Rubén Rochina and Daniel Larsson. Iván Lopez, Rafael Martins, Juanfran and Nikos Karampelas are also unavailable for the visiting team through injury, while Jaime Gavilán and Jordi Xumetra have been left out of the matchday squad by José Luis Mendilibar.
Views from the dugout
In the lead-up to the encounter, Caparrós spoke of the threat posed by his former team: "I know Levante very well and I know they'll be psyched. The players are totally committed and, when they press, you have to be very careful. It’s going to be a very difficult game and we're going to have to be at our best".
Mendilibar, meanwhile, is also aware of the difficulty of the clash. "They capitalise on their opponents' mistakes, as they did at the San Mamés against Athletic, and they have aggressive strikers who don't let you so much as cough; they don't let you clear easily", said the Basque manager.
