UD Levante downed Granada CF 0-2 in round 31 of Liga BBVA. With this win, the Valencian side, with 40 points, are now practially assured of their place in the division after ending their run of four games without a win. The some side meanwhile remain mid-table despite racking up two consecutive losses.
The Andalusians dominated the opening spells of the game but they came up against a Levante side who improved as time went on. Joaquín Caparros’ side created the best openings of the first half, the clearest of which fell to Rubén García, but Roberto produced a top-drawer save.
The second half had barely started when David Navarro scored the opener following pinball in the home side’s box. With the advantage the visitors took control of the game, despite the best efforts of Lucas Alcaraz’s men. In the 89th minute, Pedro López sealed the win to allow them to breathe easily going into the business end of the season.
