CD Leganes and Asier Garitano have reached an agreement to keep the manager from Bergara at the club for the next two seasons, meaning that the Basque coach will remain in charge of the Madrid outfit until 30 June 2018.
He took over the reins of the club in 2013 and his time at the helm of Leganes has had one constant theme: promotions built on success. He managed to hoist the club up to the Liga Adelante and he has done it again this season, guiding his team to promotion to the Liga BBVA for the first time in the club's history.
His spell in the Blanquiazules dugout now extends to 136 matches: 84 in the Liga Adelante, 38 in the Segunda Division B, eight in the Copa del Rey and six in the playoffs. There is no doubt that the coach and the players are very much on the same wavelength and now they can continue to enjoy the fruits of their alliance in Spanish football's top flight.
