LaLiga continues to play a prominent role at major innovation events across the planet. The latest example came at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai. Ignacio Martinez Trujillo, LaLiga's managing director of innovation and global development, attended this event in China, which brought together thousands of industry leaders and mobile-technology experts from all over the world to showcase and experience cutting-edge innovations in one of the biggest sectors out there.

Besides having a stand where attendees could get to know and try out LaLiga's official apps (including LaLigaFantasy, HeadSoccer and LaLigaTV), LaLiga was also represented notably through two talks delivered by Trujillo, who outlined the organisation's strategic commitment to fully embracing the digital and technological landscape.

In the first of his talks, Trujillo told those in attendance about the strategy implemented to adapt to the mobile market. "With every step it takes, LaLiga considers the perspective of its audience and aims to provide them with an experience that goes beyond football," he noted. This is part of LaLiga's drive to turn sport and its own competition into something even greater that can be enjoyed at any time, irrespective of the fixture calendar.

Trujillo gave his second presentation – entitled Challenging the Status Quo. LaLiga. Industry of Emotions, Experiences and Innovation –in the 4FYN (4 Years From Now) area to round off his contribution at the Mobile World Congress. "LaLiga's aim is to position itself among the most globally recognisable brands, by showcasing the talent of the players and all the people who bring ideas to the table." The managing director also displayed his awareness of the importance of fan interaction by mentioning the creation of "new ways to enjoy football that complement matches," which is a method LaLiga is successfully employing to draw many new fans in.

This constant commitment to innovation and developing technology has turned LaLiga into a global leader, which has seen the organisation participate in the sector's biggest events such as the Web Summit in Dublin and Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, firing it above and beyond the purely sporting side of the beautiful game.
