Under the agreement between the US organization US Club Soccer and LaLiga, a group of four American football coaches has taken a training days in Spain and visited the facilities of several clubs from LaLiga. Coaches were welcomed at the headquarters of LaLiga in Madrid in the beginning a week of training in which they learned first-hand the operation of the Spanish professional football in different categories.
Fernando Sanz, general manager of LaLiga´s office for Middle East and North Africa and Head of International Projects, welcomed the coaches at LaLiga and wished them luck in their training process. "Laliga is a role model for many international sporting bodies. It is a pleasure to share the knowledge and experience of our professionals with the US football. To bring Spanish football to all corners of the world is part of the international strategy of Laliga ", said Sanz. Adolfo Bara, director of Marketing, Sponsorship and Sales of Laliga, and Hugo Blanco, LaLiga´s Sports Projects Coordinator Laliga, who alongside Gari Fullaondo, led the training sessions and accompanied the coaches during the tour through several Spanish teams, also participated at the opening meeting in Madrid.
The coaches had the opportunity to visit the facilities of Rayo Vallecano, Athletic Club, Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona. Within these educational and cultural visits, coaches received a methodological explanation of the High Performance in Spanish football and were able to analyze high level matches from LaLiga teams. During this training week, Americans have enjoyed several technical theoretical and practical sessions and were able to undertake traineeships with teams in formative stages at the facilities of Arenas Club de Getxo and Romo Arenas FC. At the end of the conference, there was a presentation of certificates proving the knowledge gained during the training week.
This partnership between Laliga and US Club Soccer aims to exchange knowledge among experts of Spanish football and American professionals and includes training of coaches in seminars of different categories, online training, development opportunities for players and different coaching actions in Spain. The alliance was initialed last August in Portland (USA) by Fernando Sanz and Kevin Payne, CEO of US Club Soccer, during the celebration of the event "Players First". Ismael Urzaiz, Liga BBVA Ambassador, also participated in the event conducting a practice session with the U17 and U14 teams of the Crossfire Oregon at Nike headquarters in the American country.
