SÁB 24.06.2017

The participants in the 2017 LaLiga Promises International Tournament once more filled the city of Newark, New Jersey with colour and excitement on the event's second day. The dozen teams involved – six from LaLiga and six from around the world – again showcased the high standard of elite Under-12s football, with the Spanish sides shining particularly brightly.

A place in the quarter-finals was the target when play got underway first thing on Saturday morning and – having progressed that far – Villarreal CF, Valencia CF, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid subsequently won their respective ties to qualify for the semi-finals. The quartet served up a real spectacle to make it to the last four, in the process providing a perfect advertisement for the quality of the Spanish academy system.

Following the action-packed proceedings on the pitch, the four semi-finalists posed in front of the Manhattan skyline for an unforgettable photo that summed up another fantastic day for LaLiga and its clubs.

The LaLiga Promises International Tournament semi-finals and final will be contested on Sunday and can be followed live via laliga.es, the official LaLiga YouTube channel, LaLiga TV and LaSexta. The event is also present on social media under the hashtag #LaLigaPromises.
