During the day on Tuesday, November 24, LaLiga opened its new office in Johannesburg (South Africa), in what becomes its first representation on the African continent. President Javier Tebas led the delegation of LaLiga present in the South African city in order to launch officially the activities of the office. With this opening, LaLiga gives a historic step in the strategy of international expansion of Spanish professional football.

The goal of the new office is the global positioning of LaLiga´s brand also in Africa, approaching African fans who follow the Spanish football. This official opening was attended by representatives of Spanish companies and South African institutions, members of the South African Premier League (PLS) and other personalities such as Spanish Ambassador to South Africa, Juan Sell. South African Sports Minister, Fikile Mbalula congratulated LaLiga for the opening of this office in his territory.

"It's a historic day for LaLiga. We are very happy to open this office in Johannesburg to be closer to our broadcasters and, above all, to our fans. To LaLiga being here is a strategic move and we'd like to be even more present in the future", said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, who advanced that projects like LFP World Challenge will be present in Africa in next editions.

For Antonio Barradas, country manager of LaLiga in South Africa, the opening of this office in Johannesburg is a great opportunity for mutual growth. "It will be good for LaLiga and for the country that also wants large international companies on its territory. South Africans really love football and increasingly, Spanish football. We will be with them, listening and offering all our effort", stressed the head of LaLiga´s new office.

In the course of the day in Johannesburg, LaLiga´s delegation held a meeting with representatives of the international broadcaster Supersport, which holds LaLiga´s broadcasting rights in South Africa and much of the African continent. The Spanish body also visited the premises of the Nelson Mandela Foundation and met with the South African Premier League to bring positions. To conclude the visit, Antonio Barradas and Javier Tebas held a meeting with local and international media in the own office of the Spanish body on African soil.
