On Friday morning, a delegation composed of representatives of the Super League (CSL) and the Chinese Football Association (CFA) held a working meeting with LaLiga at the headquarters of the institution. Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, led the Spanish delegation, while Zhang Jian, vice president and secretary general of the Super League, headed the Chinese expedition.
The meeting aimed to lay the groundwork for future cooperation agreement between the institutions of both countries. LaLiga showed its strong willingness to cooperate with CFA and CSL in the process of professionalization, by investing in knowledge exchange programs in various areas such as marketing, finance, security and integrity as well as in football development programs in its educational values and social responsibility. Both sides expressed their interest in continuing and deepening the relationships with the intention of shaping it into a calendar of events and joint activities.
LaLiga’s president, Javier Tebas, welcomed the visit of the Asian delegation and stressed the importance of China for LaLiga. "Spanish football industry is closely linked to China. So we have to be very close to the Super League and share all the experiences with them. That the Chinese football can be also known in Spain can help us all". With regard to future relations between the entities, the president of LaLiga was willing to reach a partnership agreement: "We expect to do things together and share experiences. Surely we can learn a lot from them", said Javier Tebas.
In turn, Zhang Jian welcomed the willingness of LaLiga. "We are excited to be received and to collaborate with the best league in the world. Chinese football will begin to grow and we seek examples of success to learn and share experiences. Undoubtedly LaLiga is an example to follow". The vice president of the Super League also expressed his intention to develop relations between the two countries: "We know LaLiga not only by the level of the competition but by the time devoted to its international expansion and social responsibility. I hope we can work and find a good collaboration in the future. We can study and learn together, "noted Zhang Jian.
As part of the internationalization strategy of LaLiga, these meetings seek to bring LaLiga to federations and leagues in other countries to establish bilateral agreements to exchange experiences. Within the approach to the Asian football, agreements with multinational Suning or events such as the LFP World Challenge, brings Spanish football to the Chinese fans, highlighting the organization of football tournaments and friendlies. In addition, LaLiga maintains an operational branch office at Beijing with the aim of promoting relations between the two countries.
