LaLiga implements a new access system to the supporter’s stands

With the start of the 2015/16 season, LaLiga announces the come into operation of the new access system to the supporter’s stands through a biometric identification system developed by EVERIS, LaLiga technology partner. The new access will be installed at the request of LaLiga, in the stadiums in which its competitions are held.

The new project of LaLiga applies to the so-called “gradas de animación”, a section of the stadium where the support for the local club will be promoted and where its spectators may benefit from the campaigns that the Club / Limited Company will perform as promotion support of the local team inside the stadium. The system establishes that the only way for fans to access to that supporters´s stand is having a yearly season card, season pass or similar for that stand, zone or section, preventing other spectators can be located in the same seat if they have not received that title. In such a way, it prevents that other fans can benefit from the terms of the "grada de animacion" when they should not, as well the excess of the seating capacity are prevented and also can impede people with current bans on access to sports facilities to enter to the ground.

The new procedure promoted by Laliga is based on identifying the supporter at the time of access to the ground by reading the biometric data. After verifying its membership of that supporter´s stand, the fan is allow to enter, rejecting access to that area to the fans without the right identification forit. This system operates the same way that reading the seasonal card season pass or similar document, although the assumption that a person, not being the owner, can use it, is saved.

The new system comes into operation with the beginning of the 2015/16 season. Because of the adaptations to be performed on the "gradas de animación" and its access, the new project is being developed in stages. The first stadium with biometric identification is the Vicente Calderon, joining more stadiums over the coming months.
