Goals, shimmies, thrills and football galore – another week of LaLiga Santander draws to a close and it is time to take a look at the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI for Matchday 17 of the competition.
Real Madrid were one of the matchday's biggest movers and shakers. Their 5-0 win over Granada did not pass by unnoticed by users, and the capital club contributes the most players to the Best XI of the week with three members. However, the Player of the Matchday is a Sevilla man: Wissam Ben Yedder made a telling contribution to his team's 4-0 away victory against Real Sociedad, netting three of the four goals scored by Jorge Sampaoli's troops. He racked up 23 points, making him the highest scoring player of the matchday.
Ivan Cuellar is keeping goal for the best team of the week. The R. Sporting shotstopper booked his place among the top performers thanks to a sensational display against Las Palmas, despite losing by the finest of margins. His saves gave him 11 points. The defensive line in front of him is composed of Jose Gimenez (13 points); his teammate Stefan Savic (15 points), Nicolas Pareja (16 points); and Marcelo (14 points), who put in a great performance for Real Madrid.
The midfield is led by Madrid's Isco, who notched up 14 points. Alongside him is his teammate Luka Modric (13 points); the Real Betis player, Dani Ceballos (13 points); and Jonathan Viera of Las Palmas, also on 13 points.
The strike force of the Matchday 17 Best XI consists of two players: Ben Yedder, the Player of the Matchday with 23 points, and Iago Aspas (15 points), who gave another great account of himself and was one of the week's top performers.
