Glorious goals, devilish dribbling, extreme emotions and stunning saves are all synonymous with LaLiga Santander, as proven by yet another thrilling weekend of action. It's now time to take a look at the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI for Matchday 13.
Last weekend was an unforgettable one for Atletico Madrid. They continued one of their best-ever starts to a LaLiga Santander season with a 5-0 win over Levante UD in the Ciutat de Valencia. Four of their players make this XI, more than any other team, including The Player of the Matchday, Kevin Gameiro. The Frenchman scored 20 points thanks to his double and great all-round performance away at Levante. After Atletico, the second most represented team is RC Celta with two players, and the rest of the XI consists of Real Sociedad, Sevilla FC, Girona FC, Real Madrid and Malaga CF stars.
Between the sticks in this XI is Malaga’s Roberto. The 31-year-old was one of the outstanding performers in his team's clash away at Madrid. Despite being on the losing side, he pulled off a string of decent saves against Zinedine Zidane's men.
The back four is split between two clubs – Atletico and Celta. Representing the Madrid side are Stefan Savic and Filipe Luis, while for the Galicians it's Jonny and Gustavo Cabral. The four players were vital in their teams keeping clean sheets, putting in assured and convincing performances.
The midfield three comprises of Sevilla's Ever Banega, Madrid's Casemiro and Girona's Portu. The star of these three is Portu, who scored twice for Girona, helping his side grab a point away at Real Betis.
The attackers in this XI are La Real's Adnan Januzaj and Atletico duo Kevin Gameiro and Antoine Griezmann, with the three of them finding the net five times in total. The French frontmen had a memorable weekend, both finding the net twice, helping Atletico pick up vital points as they continue their fight to climb the LaLiga Santander table. Meanwhile, Belgian wideman Januzaj scored La Real's second goal in their draw at home against UD Las Palmas.
