LaLiga Experience
JUE 03.11.2022
The LaLiga Clash competition has begun in style. During these 12 LaLiga Santander matchdays, 29 international broadcasters in more than 50 countries have started the ball rolling on their campaigns to put their biggest fans to the test, from Japan, Vietnam, Australia, and Taiwan, through to the Czech Republic, Denmark and Hungary, and extending across to the Americas, in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
Engagement and participation in the contests has also increased significantly this season. This is all thanks to the international broadcasters taking the opportunity to combine creative assets in their local languages with video-questions starring the players from the competition. Likewise, their followers can bag exclusive LaLiga prizes through a simple participation mechanism: either by putting their answers in a reply to the posts or clicking on the correct option.
The subjects touched on by each of the questions have made it possible to cover different aspects of the competition, with questions on players, legends, stadiums and, of course, unforgettable matches, such as the Seville Derby and ElClasico.
Regarding the iconic ElClasico, 20 broadcasters took advantage of the visibility of this blockbuster game on Matchday 9 to reach a wider audience. Through “El Clasico Xpert”, they asked their followers which of the three players shown had played for both clubs. Other networks opted to launch "Guess the Result" to allow their subscribers to make their predictions for the game's scoreline.
In Bulgaria, MaxSport placed the question on its Facebook page and received over 1.3K responses, while Canal Plus gave its followers from French-speaking Africa the opportunity to get their hands on prizes for correctly answering the question. It was unquestionably a huge success, with more than 4.4K fans taking part.
Meanwhile, in Vietnam, SCTV used the contest's official assets, while On Sports came up with its own creative pieces with superb results.
In Poland, Eleven Sports beat participation records with over 10K responses on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, with its presenters promoting the contest during their pre-match programming. Spiler Hungary tasked its commentators with encouraging the audience to try their luck on its Facebook page.
In Turkey, S Sport elected to promote both questions on Instagram and the prize draw exceeded all expectations with over 4K responses.
On the Asian continent, ELEVEN Taiwan also posted "Guess the Result" of the match on its social medial channels, adapting the visuals with a fun clip showing its fans the prizes that they could win.
In Israel, the local LaLiga broadcaster ONE opted for TikTok to create a video with its popular presenter describing the contests to his followers. Plus, the network's presenters made the most of their special coverage ahead of ElClasico to raise awareness of the campaign.
Over in the Americas, DIRECTV made the most of El Clasico Xpert by announcing the prize draw on its Latam accounts. The video garnered more than 2.8 million views on Instagram.
Before the league's winter break, we will be highlighting more examples of other LaLiga Clash contests which continue to spark interest in LaLiga on our international broadcasters' platforms under the hashtag #LaLigaClash.
