This Friday saw LaLiga welcome the participants of the inaugural edition of a training camp jointly organised by the institution and the CEAIE (China Education Association for International Exchange). The visiting expedition, made up of over 60 children selected by the Chinese Ministry of Education, were welcomed to Madrid by Vicente Casado, LaLiga's managing director of international development; Sergi Torrents, LaLiga's country manager in China; Hugo Blanco, LaLiga’s sporting projects coordinator; and Mr Liao, the deputy director of the Chinese Ministry of Education's Department of Physical, Health and Art Education.
The project, which was developed in partnership with the Chinese Ministry of Education, brings together the Asian country's brightest footballing talent, who were chosen after successfully negotiating a rigorous selection process. The programme offers men's, women's and mixed-gender clubs the chance to explore the training methods commonly employed in Spain, whilst also representing an opportunity for the two cultures to come together.
The travelling party were greeted at Madrid's Hotel Axor and were made to feel right at home, including being congratulated about the National Day of the People's Republic of China, an extremely special occasion for the visitors.
LaLiga has organised a schedule of activities throughout the week for the 61 boys and girls to complement their on-field commitments. The children are set to take part in prestigious matches, train with Spanish sides and link up with local youngsters as they gain a first-hand insight into the training methods used in Spain.
