Four weeks after its beginning, the training program developed by Pepsi Stars and LaLiga closes its first edition in Spanish soil. The 23 young Egyptians players selected to participate in this program, received at the hands of Fernando Sanz, Ambassador of Liga BBVA and Director of LaLiga's Office for Middle East and North Africa, a diploma certifying their participation in this project.
"It's a big responsibility and a genuine privilege to be able to assist in the formation as people and as footballers to these young players," said Fernando Sanz, who also stressed the commitment of LaLiga with the development of football, particularly at youth level. "This campus developed by Pepsi Egypt confirms LaLiga’s effort to help governments, federations, leagues and football associations in their development. It is a step further in the presence that Spanish football and its professionals have worldwide. And of course that's where we want to be, helping and working in the process of training young players".
The aim of the Pepsi Star program has been to get the participants to earn football knowledge under supervision of LaLiga's specialists, combining high-level matches in Spain with educational and sports visits.
During their stay in Spain, the 23 players and coaches of the Pepsi Academy have developed their skills as players in intense training sessions led by coaches from the Royal Andalusian Football Federation, and have had the opportunity to compete against several Andalusian teams from LaLiga of the same category.
The young Egyptians people have also enjoyed the visit of Luis Suarez, FC Barcelona international player, and attended several matches of Liga BBVA, taking advantage of these visits to carry out various cultural activities.
