The training program developed by LaLiga and Pepsi has begun its activity in Spain. Just a week after starting their training stage at Marbella, players who make up the team of the Pepsi Academy enjoyed the hospitality of Málaga CF. The Egyptian expedition played a match against a team of Malaga´s academy and hours later, received the official welcome from LaLiga at La Rosaleda Stadium, during the match between Málaga CF and Villarreal CF. Moroccan Nordin Amrabat acted as host to the group of young promising players.
After a long process of training and assessment within LaLiga Academy Development, which included demanding footballing tests and personal interviews, representatives of LaLiga and Pepsi Academy selected in Cairo (Egypt) the 23 players to enjoy this development program and immersion in Spain. The group, composed of young people between 15 and 19 years and three coaches from the Pepsi Academy, landed last week in Malaga, where they will stay for 4 weeks at the Marbella Football Center.
During the next month, the young players will join an extensive program of activities that will give them the opportunity to enrich themselves as individuals and as football players from this experience abroad. The aim of the program is that players can acquire football knowledge under the supervision of experts from LaLiga, combining games against top teams in Spain with educational and sports visits.
The training plan includes double working sessions, led by coaches of the Andalusian Football Association, six days a week, and several games against Andalusian teams from LaLiga of the same category. The first match was played this afternoon against Malaga CF, to be followed by clashes against Sevilla FC, Real Betis, Cadiz and Granada. In turn, the delegation of the Pepsi Academy will have the opportunity to attend several matches of LaLiga as well as various cultural visits, taking advantage of these transfers.
