LaLiga Experience is returning with a renewed format that will strengthen the connection between the Competition’s audience and the Competition’s rights holders. Over the course of 20 matchdays during the current season, 20 ‘LaLiga Ultimate Xpert’ contests will be run by LaLiga’s Rights holders to allow its viewers to show off their LaLiga Santander knowledge and to win prizes.
Each of the 20 contests will centre around a LaLiga Santander Club, with each of the 20 teams being featured once. Questions related to each Club will be asked by LaLiga Santander representatives, such as current players or LaLiga ambassadors. These competition videos can be shared by broadcasters during their programming and on their social media channels, with subscribers then entering through social media posts that must include the official hashtag of #LaLigaUltimateXpert along with their answers.
For supporters, this is a chance to show just how much they know about their favourite teams and players and about LaLiga Santander as a whole, with fantastic prizes like official shirts and footballs up for grabs. Then, the top Xperts of each region could win the chance to take part in LaLiga Experience in 2021/22. This involves a trip to Spain and an exclusive footballing experience.
For broadcasters, this initiative is a way to reward the loyalty of their current subscribers and a way to reach a wider number of subscribers thanks to the exclusive content that will be provided and thanks to the wider intrigue of the prizes on offer. The format of the competition has been designed in a way that will promote traffic to broadcasters’ websites, digital platforms and social media accounts and that will boost engagement on such platforms. The need to answer a question means that participants will want to pay especially close attention to their local broadcasters’ programming each week in order to give themselves the best chance to win.
A priority for LaLiga is to maintain close relationships and collaboration with its broadcast partners to help them maximise the value of their rights and this is just the latest example of this. By running this campaign throughout the season, there are continued benefits for the rights holders.
Another institutional objective is to promote every one of the LaLiga Santander Clubs and this competition will do exactly that, given that the focus each week will be on a different team. Through these contests, viewers will be able to learn about all Clubs and regions of Spain. Then, the LaLiga Experience content that will be created along with the ‘LaLiga Ultimate Xpert’ winners and journalists of the channel will take that a step further.
In previous seasons, LaLiga Experience has produced compelling content around each of the Clubs in Spain’s top division with the participation of journalists and influencers. This time around, this subscribers’ focused LaLiga.
Experience will generate further storylines and content, at the same time as bringing viewers and broadcasters closer together.
