Friday saw LaLiga host the visit of the Republic of Indonesia's Assistant Minister for Youth and Sports, Gatot S. Dewa, who was accompanied by members of the Asian country’s embassy in Spain.
The meeting was attended by Fernando Sanz, general director of LaLiga’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) office; Adolfo Bara, managing director for sales and marketing; and director of competitions Ricardo Resta.
The informative talks with the Indonesian representatives offered the opportunity for LaLiga to explain the workings and characteristics of Spanish professional football, with a view to future collaborative projects. Sanz noted: "Indonesia is a very important country in Asia and is strategic for Spanish football’s expansion plans".
The visit comes as part of the process of internationalisation of Spanish football's brand in the Asian market. Countries such as Japan and China currently have commercial, sporting and sponsorship agreements with LaLiga. In addition, programmes of activities linked to football have been set up to enable the furthering of LaLiga's image throughout the world.
