The La Liga president Javier Tebas, and the director general of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, H.E. Aref Al Awani, signed an agreement on Wednesday at the headquarters of the LFP to promote Spanish football in the Arab Emirates.
Tebas stated the importance of collaborating with public and private institutions in other countries “to develop football in our country” and he stated that this “is another step forward towards expanding La Liga on the international stage”. Javier Tebas said he was convinced that initiatives such as tournaments, training talks, or coaching meetings that would get underway thanks to the agreement with the ADSC, “would bring new collaboration projects in the future”.
The director general of ADSC, H.E. Aref Al Awani, expressed his gratitude to La Liga as host and reminded people that the agreement is the result of meetings held over the last six months. “We are very proud of the work that has taken place up until now, and we hope that it will be the beginning of an exchange of experiences with La Liga, the most important league in the world”. He also underlined the fact that “we are sure that we will benefit from this agreement”. H.E. Aref Al Awani, expressed his desire for “Spanish clubs to come and visit our country”. “We have a unique opportunity to collaborate with La Liga based around football but also in other sectors such as culture or social initiatives”, he added.
The director of the La Liga office in the Middle East and North Africa, Fernando Sanz, also present at the signing ceremony along with the Marketing director,
Adolfo Bara, and representatives of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council stressed that the agreement will be “very beneficial for both parties”.
The La Liga president thanked the Abu Dhabi delegation and invited them to enjoy the sports events that they will attend during their visit in Spain.
