Koke named Liga BBVA Player of the Month for April

Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke Resurreccion (Madrid, 8 January 1992) has been named Liga BBVA Player of the Month for April, thanks to his sterling run of form as one of the fundamental components of Diego Pablo Simeone's hard-working side.

The Spaniard's statistics from the last month are simply startling. In six outings Koke scored two goals – against RCD Espanyol and Granada CF – and provided four assists – against R. Betis, Espanyol (2) and Granada. The 24-year-old is an irreplaceable figure at the heart of an Atletico team, as shown by his lofty position in the assists charts with 14 to his name.

 This accolade, which is awarded by BBVA, the competition's main sponsor, and voted for by the LaLiga.es writers, recognises Koke's outstanding contribution to Los Rojiblancos, through his technical ability and fantastic vision, as well as his leadership qualities on the pitch.
