After doing some excellent work in charge of Levante, Joaquín Caparrós got the job at Granada CF for the 2014-15 season. With a footballing philosophy built on intensity, the experienced boss from Utrera is looking to make the Granada fans dream again. This matchday they face UD Almería, and 'LFP.es, in depth' analyses Caparrós’s side line by line. Caparrós.

Goalkeeper

Stopper Roberto Fernández is one of Joaquín Caparrós's untouchables.

The Galician has played 10 games for the side this season, making 31 saves in his 900 minutes. Roberto has had a knee injury and there is a chance that Caparrós will not risk him. In the first game of the season with Roberto suspended, Macedonian Stole Dimitrievski played. Oier Olazábal, who joined this summer, could also be given a chance if the number one is absent.

The defence

Nyom, Murillo and Babin are three immovable objects.

The right back berth is property of Allan-Roméo Nyom, who has proved himself to be both reliable and explosive in attack. The Cameroon international has played in every game this season, making 46 ball recoveries, scoring in the 1-1 draw with SD Eibar. The centre back partnership seems to comprise of Jeison Murillo and Jean-Sylvain Babin. The Colombia and Martinique internationals stand out for their power in the air.

There are a number of possibilities on the left-hand side, with both Dimitri Foulquier and Juan Carlos Pérez having played there. The latter seems to be the front-runner for the position, having started the last two games. Luis Martins is the third player who has played there this season, although the Portuguese only did so for 24 minutes against FC Barcelona.

The middle of the park

Iturra and Fran Rico are Caparrós's go-to guys in the midfield.

This is the area of the pitch where Joaquín Caparrós has done the majority of his experimenting. In the 11 games played thus far, the Andalusian coach has named nine different midfields. However in the centre, there are little doubts as to the two who will play: Manuel Iturra and Fran Rico. The Chile international, who stands out for his tenacity and fight on the pitch, has played 10 games this season, only being named on the bench once. Rico, who is one of the side's captains, has played the same number of games and also found the net in the 1-1 draw with Elche CF.

The wing positions are where things get interesting. Full-back Foulquier (who sometimes plays in midfield) and Abdoul Sissoko have occupied the positions in the last few games, but Rubén Rochina and Piti, two players who stand out for their technique and unpredictability are other options for Caparrós. As he searches for his perfect midfield balance, Héctor Yuste has started three times, while Eddy Silvestre, Javi Márquez and Sulayman Marreh have all played from the off once.

Up front

Despite the fact he is just 18, Isaac Success has started six times for Granada.

In the usual 4-4-2 setup, Jhon Córdoba and Youssef El Arabi look to be the pair of choice for the new boss. The young Colombian, who was the club's star arrival this summer, has started the last three games. Strong and with outstanding pace, he has played 406 minutes and scored in the 0-1 win away to Athletic Club. The Moroccan, meanwhile, is a fixture at Granada and showed his qualities in the last campaign with 12 goals.

The big surprise of the season is Nigerian forward Isaac Success, who aged 18 has started six times. He made his debut in matchday two against Elche, becoming one of Granada's youngest ever players in Liga BBVA and looks to have a bright future ahead of him. Finally, Caparrós has given Alfredo Ortuño, who scored 17 times between La Hoya Lorca CF and Girona FC last season, two starts.
