The Yacht Club of Monaco hosted Monday night the inaugural edition of the TV Sports Awards, with a major presence from LaLiga for the nomination of Javier Tebas as best Media Executive of the Year.
LaLiga´s president was joined by Miguel Cardenal, president of the Higher Sports Council, along with Luis Figo and Fernando Sanz, Liga BBVA Ambassadors. Javier Gomez, Chief Corporate Officer of LaLiga and Ignacio Martinez Trujillo, LaLiga´s General Manager for innovation and global development, also attended as guests to this charity gala that was also attended by big names in world football as Rio Ferdinand and Fabio Cannavaro.
The Award jury highlighted that Javier Tebas "has been the engine of the centralized sale of audiovisual rights, which have already yielded spectacular results in terms of total revenues from the rights, both in Spain and around the world."

Tebas was nominated along with Joerg Daubitzer, CEO of DFL Sports and Peter Hutton, CEO of Eurosport, who ultimately received the award. "More than the award, it is the fact of being nominated by the experts as best executive. We are excited with the team that we are leading and this encourages us to continue working", said Tebas.
TV Sports Awards
These awards recognize excellence in the sports industry and the media, in addition to support the foundation “Play for Change", dedicated to the provision of life changing opportunities for children and young people from disadvantaged background.
In other categories the winners were Amaury Sport (best television coverage event, for the Tour de France), Omnigon (best digital media project, for the Rugby World Cup app), Eurosport (best sport broadcaster), Rio Ferdinand (Play for Change Award) and the partnership between Eurosport and Discovery (Best TV Rights Deal for the agreement for European rights of the Olympic Games). The jury is composed by an independent committee composed of representatives of Sportel, TV Sports Markets and SportBusiness International.
