Javier Tebas: “With the great team of #LaLigaAmbassadors we will remain the best league in the world"

LaLiga introduced the ten players who shall serve as Liga BBVA ambassadors in a gala which was attended by former players who will be responsible for expanding the international image of the competition.

Fernando Morientes, David Albelda, Roberto Carlos, Michel Salgado, Patrick Kluivert, Ismael Urzaiz, Luis Figo, Frederic Kanoute, Christian Karembeu and Gaizka Mendieta formed ambassadors’ team, joined by LaLiga’s president, Javier Tebas, and Fernando Sanz, LaLiga’s office Director in Middle East and North Africa.

"We want to expand and maintain our position as the best league in the world. As with games, there is no room for relax, there is much competition and we cannot fall asleep. With this great team of ambassadors we will remain the best league in the world. All have been icons at LaLiga, every one of them has had a special character. They add all the values of quality and effort. The values they had on the pitch were spread around the world", said Javier Tebas.

In the event, the ten ambassadors and Fernando Sanz received a replica of the first Panini sticker featuring their debuts in LaLiga and they highlighted the "pride" to contribute to the expansion of Spanish football in every corner of the world and to collaborate on competition growth.
