During a talk moderated by Oscar Campillo, editor in chief of Diario Marca, at the Soccerex convention being held these days in Manchester, LaLiga's President stressed the importance of the strategy in the centralized sale of media rights.
"This season we have had a capital gain of 400 million euros in the domestic market, the forecast is to enter 300 million more than we have achieved this course. To this end has been key the will of LaLiga clubs", pondered Javier Tebas in his speech. "We have accomplished a year in advance in the process of centralized sales and it is crucial to continue with this line of work so that, at international level, strengthen LaLiga's brand", said the president.

In front of the attendees at the Main Hall of Manchester Central, Tebas congratulated the Premier League by the agreement closed by the British agency earlier this year by the sale of television rights, while he set LaLiga’s challenges: "There are enough differences with the Premier League, because they have a larger audience and have 15 million subscribers to pay TV, by the five we have in Spain".
The executive added that "the goal over the next four or five years is to enter from the sale of international rights the same as the Premier League and we are on the right track. In fact, in China, LaLiga has achieved revenues that outweigh Premier League's and in United States we have come close", said Tebas.
Another major issues of the event was the way that football fans are consuming the product nowadays, which goes beyond the 90 minutes. "We live in a 360-degree strategy where 180 are to watch the game, and the other 180 will be filled with digital environments to bring the fans. A few years ago, our fans wanted to watch football, now want to feel it," said the president of LaLiga who also said that "we are responding to that challenge and have launched official applications and games, and continue to innovate in digital environments and social networks to keep up."
