Javier Tebas: "A new La Liga has arrived"

Javier Tebas spoke from Mexico and offered his assessment of the passing of the Royal Decree-Law regarding the sale of television content of Spanish professional football competitions. The La Liga president stated that the measure means that “A new La Liga has arrived and it will develop unstoppably in order to equal and overtake our competitors”.

The head of the football association stated that the decision taken by the Spanish Government on Thursday afternoon during a meeting of the Council of Ministers was “necessary for the development and growth of our sector”. Tebas also added that “a new chapter was beginning for professional football in Spain”.

Tebas stated that “this decision by the Spanish Government marks an historic milestone for Spanish professional football and will allow it to be more competitive on national and international markets”.
