Sevilla intensity
The home team started with a lot of energy, taking the leading role for the first 15 minutes and having many opportunities. Italian striker Ciro Immobile was the most active player with several shots on goal.
Reward for the effort
After his many attempts at the start of the game, Immobile was rewarded in the 16th minute. The home striker opened the scoring at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan burying a loose ball into the back of the net.
Key goal
Just before half time and with Espanyol in control looking for an equaliser, Ever Banega brought calm for Sevilla scoring a second. Iborra won the ball, Mariano assisted and the Argentine scored with a composed finish.
Home strength
Espanyol took control in the second half. Galca’s men spread their positions trying to get closer on the score and hoping for a comeback, but Sevilla’s men’s strength lead to not giving away any chances.
Sevilla on fire at Sanchez Pizjuan
Seventh consecutive home victory for the Andalusians, who have secured 21 out of 26 possible points in front of their supporters. These three points give Sevilla the perfect ending for a 2015 where they became champions of the UEFA Europa League.
