CD Mirandes 2-0 AD Alcorcon

Second-half goals from Urko Vera (64') and Iñigo Eguaras (76'), both of which came from corners, clinched three huge points for the hosts in this potentially make-or-break encounter against relegation rivals. Although they remain bottom despite the win, the result will fill Mirandes with belief that they can claw their way to safety. As for Alcorcon, they end the matchday in the drop zone once again.

RCD Mallorca 0-0 Nastic

Former FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid defender Sergi took charge of his first game as Mallorca manager in what was another relegation showdown at the Iberostar Stadium. Though several clear-cut chances were carved out at both ends, goalkeepers Roberto Santamaria and Manolo Reina were equal to everything that was thrown at them, ensuring that both teams went away with a point that suited the visitors much more than the home side.

Getafe CF 2-0 Levante UD

The Madrilenians reinforced their playoff credentials with this convincing win over the runaway league leaders. Jorge Molina set Getafe on their way with a rocket into the top corner after just five minutes, before Francisco Portillo beat Raul with a low, skidding shot from the middle of the box on 37'.

Cadiz CF 1-1 CD Lugo

The spoils were shared in this keenly contested affair, which was full of incident right from the off. Marcelo Djalo put Lugo ahead with a scrappy goal from a corner after just three minutes, but Cadiz did not need too long to draw level. A set piece once more proved decisive, Alfredo Ortuño applying the finishing touch to Ager Aketxe's free-kick on the quarter-hour mark. Lugo took control of the match again after the interval, helped by Aridane's sending-off, but they were unable to find a winner.

Rayo Vallecano 1-1 CD Tenerife

Third-placed Tenerife were frustrated on their trip to Vallecas, as the relegation-battling hosts extended their unbeaten run to four games (W2 D2). Amath's well-taken finish gave the Canary Islanders the lead early on, but Adrian Embarba smashed home midway through the first half to earn Rayo a point.

R. Valladolid CF 2-1 Cordoba CF

Paco Herrera's charges beat Cordoba for a first home win in five to climb into eighth place in the LaLiga 1l2l3 table. Jose Arnaiz and Jaime Mata fired the hosts into a two-goal lead and even though Alejandro Alfaro pulled one back for the visitors on 79 minutes, the Andalusians were unable to take the three points that would have seen them climb further away from the relegation zone.

Elche CF 3-2 Sevilla Atletico

Elche ended their dismal run at home in a thrilling game packed with goals and entertaining football from start to finish. Nino, Alex Fernandez and a David Carmona own goal sealed the win for the hosts, whilst two goals from Marc Gual were not enough for Sevilla At.

CD Numancia 0-2 Girona FC

After a run of three straight defeats, Girona finally got back to winning ways at the Nuevo Los Pajaritos. Two goals from Pedro Alcala saw Pablo Machin's charges overcome a Numancia side that have not won since 12 February. The win left Girona second in the table with an eight-point lead over third-placed CD Tenerife.

CF Reus 0-1 SD Huesca

A volley from Samu Saiz from the edge of the area at the death sealed an agonising win for Huesca away to Reus. Huesca are now undefeated in nine games, a run that has seen them climb to within a point of the playoff places. Meanwhile, defeat left Reus mid-table and just four points clear of the relegation zone.

R. Oviedo 2-0 UCAM Murcia CF

Oviedo moved into fourth place courtesy of a home win over Murcia, which ended the visitors' run of six straight games without defeat. The game could not have started better for Oviedo who took a third-minute lead through Toche. Despite Murcia's attempts to equalise, Borja Dominguez scored Oviedo's second of the game to secure the points for the hosts in time added on.

UD Almeria 2-2 Real Zaragoza

Despite another week in the relegation zone, Almeria did make it three straight games without defeat, mainly thanks to their never-say-die attitude at home to Zaragoza. The visitors led 2-0 inside six minutes thanks to goals from Edu Bedia and Angel Rodriguez, but Jorge Morcillo and Quique Gonzalez levelled the game before half-time. Ramis' team were reduced to 10 men after the break when Fidel Chaves was given his marching orders, but the game ended all square.
