AD Alcorcón and UD Las Palmas drew 0-0 on matchday 26 of the Liga Adelante, a result that neither outfit will be satisfied with: Paco Herrera’s men could see top spot come under threat, while the hosts have now gone ten games without tasting victory.
The two sides were both unable to dominate the play in the first half, although the Canary Islanders enjoyed the clearest chances at the Estadio de Santo Domingo. Aythami Artiles was the first to have Alcorcón’s defence on alert, but his powerful effort could not find Javi Jiménez’s net. Youngster Víctor Pastrana responded with a long-range shot that forced a save from goalkeeper Casto Espinosa to prevent the home team from taking the lead. Sergio Araujo and again Aythami tried their luck for Las Palmas, but it remained 0-0 at the break.
After the restart, the rhythm of the game continued in much the same vein, as time and again no-one was able to take control of the ball in midfield. With the second half lacking in intensity or danger in either area, there was to be no change to the scoreboard and it was honours even in Alcorcón.
