If anything defined LaLiga and Spanish football is the quality and the great unerring eye for goal of its strikers. In the case of Liga Adelante, the stats of recent years confirms that the goal scorers born in Spain often make a difference.
On twelve occasions of the last fifteen seasons, the top scorer of Liga Adelante was a Spanish player. As if that were not enough, all met or exceeded the twenty goals. Six times also reached the twenty five goals or even exceeded that figure.
2001/02, 2011/12 and 2012/13 were the only of the past fifteen years that ended without Spanish striker as top scorer. In them, the Uruguayan Diego Alonso (Atletico Madrid), Argentine Leonardo Ulloa (Almeria) and Brazilian Charles Dias (Almeria) were the top scorers.
