LaLiga, through its educational department LaLiga Business School, brings to a close the second session of the 'Global Players Program' course aimed at active players from LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank. Promoted by Banco Santander and in collaboration with AFE (Spanish Footballers' Association), Players App, and with the addition of PortAventura World as a new partner, the 'Global Players Program' has definitively established itself as the best training option for professional footballers, and is the only football league in the world with such an option for its players.
After five months of streaming content, and with LaLiga Santander now over, this week saw the face-to-face sessions in Madrid. During the three days, the footballers had the opportunity to receive in-person masterclasses. On the first day, they received a presentation by Javier Tebas, Óscar Mayo and Javier Gómez. On the other two days, they were welcomed by other LaLiga professionals such as Marta Alonso, Deputy Director to Corporate General Management and Luis Gil, Competitors director of LaLiga as well as attending a round table discussion with former players Augusto Fernández and Roberto Jiménez.
During this second session, 25 players took part in the Global Players Program, representing more than 12 different LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank clubs. Once again, all the members of the course were able to benefit from the guidance of former Rayo Vallecano footballer, Alberto García, as a mentor. In addition, as a new development this year, and thanks to the agreement between LaLiga and the AFE in terms of training, a small quota of places was opened for players associated with the AFE.
In short, a successful second year for the Global Players Program that demonstrates LaLiga's commitment to training, which it considers to be the basis for approaching a professional future with the necessary preparation.
