Girona fight back to stay second

Girona FC scored twice in seven minutes to come from behind to beat CD  Leganés 2-1 on matchday 34 in the Liga Adelante.

Asier Garitano's side dominated the hosts in the first few moments of the game, peppering Isaac Becerra’s goal and barely allowing Girona to breathe. However, the tables turned in the second half in a matter of minutes.

All the goals came after the break. First Chuli put the Madrid side in front as he finally scored in the 50th minute after firing warning shots all game. 12 minutes later Jaime Mata levelled the match after receiving a cross from the right, galvanising the fans inside Montilivi. And Girona rode the crest of the wave of their equaliser to find a winner not long after, with Fran Sandaza finishing off Mata’s pass. The result sees the Catalans cling on to second place, leaving the Madrid side mid-table.
