CF Fuenlabrada are now a LaLiga 1|2|3 side and have made history, having sealed promotion to Spanish football's professional division for the very first time, after many years of battling to move up to the second tier from Segunda Division B.
A spectacular 3-0 win in the first leg of the champions' playoffs against RC Recreativo Huelva was followed up by a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Nuevo Colombino to secure promotion. The southern Madrid-based outfit finished the normal season top of Group 1, with a return of 20 wins, 11 draws and seven defeats.
With Mere leading his charges from the dugout, Fuenlabrada's key men this campaign have been goalkeeper Biel Ribas, the irrepressible Juanma Marrero marshalling the defence, the magical Hugo Fraile and explosive youngster Randy Nteka. Cedric Omoigui also certainly deserves a mention for his contribution to the regular season, having notched 11 goals before being struck down by injury in March
