• The name "Mendizorroza" comes from the Basque "Mendizorrotza", meaning mountain peak or sharp mount.
• With 91 years, is the third oldest stadium of LaLiga clubs that have not changed locations after their opening. Only exceeded by Mestalla and El Molinón.
• Mendizorroza opened on April 27, 1924 with a match that was preceded by a bike race and a track meeting. Football arrived in the evening.
• The Vitoria stadium was built on a wheat field and next to a cycling track nowadays disappeared.
• This ground has experienced nights of all colors, from great performances in European competitions, such as UEFA, to suffered points at the Third Division, going through Liga BBVA, Liga Adelante and Second Division B.
