  • It was officially inaugurated on 20 May 2001 with a playoff match for promotion to LaLiga 1|2|3 between Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa and Xerez CD.

  • Iban Espadas scored the first ever goal in the stadium's history, netting the winner in CyD Leonesa's victory over the side from Jerez.

  • The ground was not known as Reino de Leon until the 2008/09 season, having been inaugurated under the name Nuevo Estadio Antonio Amilivia in honour of the Leon outfit's old stadium.

  • The Spanish national team have graced the pitch on three occasions. The first was on 2 April 2003 in a EURO 2004 qualifier which ended in a 3-0 win over Armenia. Spain later beat Costa Rica 2-1 there in a friendly on 11 June 2015. The last match they played at the ground was on 5 September 2016, when La Roja thrashed Liechtenstein 8-0 during qualification for the 2018 World Cup.

  • The stadium also acts as the venue for the city's other main sports clubs – basketball teams Baloncesto Leon and Club Baloncesto San Jose shoot hoops there and Club Balonmano Ademar Leon and Club Leon Balonmano play handball there.
