Ochoa (Malaga CF)

In the absence of the injured Carlos Kameni, the Mexican has made the number 1 shirt his own. During his two outings to date, Guillermo Ochoa has shown glimpses of just what a quality goalkeeper Malaga have on their hands. The Boquerones shotstopper has got experience on his side and his performance last time out against R.Sporting proved that he is more than a capable replacement between the sticks for Javi Gracia's side.

Sabin Merino (Athletic Club)

He has shown himself to be the brightest prospect amongst the latest crop to emerge from the Athletic academy. The brace he netted last time out against Real Betis confirmed Merino's status as one to keep a close eye on.

Adrian Lopez (Villarreal CF)

After completing the long road back from injury, Adrian Lopez is once again demonstrating what a quality player he is. The on-loan forward, who is starting to rediscover his best form, has added to Marcelino's attacking options and is set to play an important role in the run-in.

Jose Gimenez (Atletico Madrid)

This season has seen the Uruguayan establish himself at the heart of the Atletico defence, where he has become one of the key men in Diego Simeone's system. With the injury to his centre-back partner, Diego Godin, the onus is now on the 21-year-old to step up and marshal the Rojiblancos backline.

Carl Medjani (Levante UD)

He checked in at Levante in the winter transfer window and since his arrival, the Algerian has been a regular under Rubi. He's strong in the air and brings the ball out well from the back, qualities which have seen him become one of the mainstays in a Levante rearguard which is only too aware that their survival chances depend firmly on tightening things up at the back.
