The maiden edition of the Liga BBVA Experience project ended on Sunday with the clash between Granada CF and FC Barcelona, and it has been a resounding success.
The Liga BBVA Experience has allowed dozens of fans from 38 different countries to enjoy LaLiga like never before. The first step was to send a replica of the Liga BBVA trophy to the international operators with audiovisual rights, and that was just the start of the magic. Millions of spectators understood the importance of this piece of silverware, causing a huge uptake on the part of viewers and broadcasters alike: through the different contests and prize draws, over 100,000 fans sought to make their dream come true. In the end, 91 lucky winners were able to visit Spain and experience first-hand how the country lives and breathes football.

This special experience for football enthusiasts was organised on a number of different dates, coinciding with 10 Liga BBVA matchdays. Over a period of four days in one of the nine Spanish cities which hosted the event, the fans got the tourist treatment, took part in activities created exclusively for them, attended the matches, spent time with the official supporters' clubs and even got to meet some of the biggest stars of the Liga BBVA. It was, without a doubt, a dream come true for the fans of the greatest league in the world.
The project forms part of LaLiga's international expansion strategy, which seeks not only to generate emotional bonds with millions of football fans around the globe, but also to achieve notoriety which goes beyond borders. It offered a VIP programme for the international fans who had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the history and passion of the football clubs of the Liga BBVA: Malaga CF, Valencia CF, UD Las Palmas, Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid, RC Deportivo, Athletic Club, Sevilla FC, R. Betis and Granada CF.
The initiative has proven that LaLiga is about much more than just 90 minutes of play. The final stop for the LigaBBVAExperience was Granada, where several Israeli fans enjoyed a very special football experience at the Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium. It was the perfect end to a project which has highlighted the importance that LaLiga holds for its international supporters and broadcasters, providing a prelude to the 2016/17 season.
