Fábio Silva named LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month for April

Fábio Silva has been named the LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Under-23 Player for April, an award presented by LALIGA in collaboration with Riyadh Season. The young striker from Gondomar, Portugal, has been in top form this season, racking up 10 goals and 3 assists. He becomes the third player this century to reach double digits in goals for UD Las Palmas in LALIGA EA SPORTS, following Jonathan Viera (2015/16) and Kevin-Prince Boateng (2016/17).

April saw Silva at his very best. He provided an assist against Real Sociedad and scored twice against Getafe CF in a crucial 1-3 away win, helping his side take all three points at the Coliseum. His tireless work and influence in the final third were also key in the 1-0 victory over Atlético de Madrid, a result that temporarily lifted Las Palmas out of the relegation zone.

 

His standout performances throughout the month earned him the edge in the final vote, beating out fellow young talents Giuliano Simeone (Atlético de Madrid), César Tárrega (Valencia CF), Thierno Barry (Villarreal CF) and Roberto Fernández (RCD Espanyol).
