Espanyol, looking to cash in on a good start

RCD Espanyol will be looking to cash in on its promising start to the season when it hosts an inspired Getafe CF in the Cornellà-El Prat. The Catalonian team is yet to taste defeat at home and have seven points from a possible nine. For its part, the Madrid outfit comes to Barcelona firing on all cylinders after winning two of its last three ties.

The home team, which is without Juan Fuentes as the match approaches, is in sixth place in the table having suffered a loss at the hands of Villarreal CF in its last match. Javier Aguirre, the home manager, has David López, Javi López and Simao back for the match, and has called up Colombian striker Jhon Córdoba for the first time.

For its part, the team trained by Luis García Plaza will be without Ángel Lafita and Juan Valera, who are injured, and the teams latest signing, the Romanian Ciprian Marica. However, midfielder Mehdi Lacen will be back for the match having overcome his injury problems. The visiting manager made it clear that if his team wants to follow on from its last matches, it will have to "fight hard" with the Catalonian team to come home with a good result.

Last season Getafe recorded a 0-2 victory in the Cornellà with goals from Pedro León and Mané.
