The FC Barcelona B forward Jean Marie Dongou Has been awarded the prize for 'Best African Player in the 2013-14 Liga Adelante' in the '2014 LFP Awards Ceremony', finishing ahead of the likes of Ibrahim Sissoko (RC Deportivo) and Ritchie Kitoko (Real Jaén) in the voting.
The Cameroonian striker was a cornerstone of the Azulgrana reserves side, who finished last season in a well deserved third place. The 19-year-old footballer, considered one of the gems of the Barcelona academy, contributed with 8 goals in the 30 matches he played and was a constant threat to every defence in the Liga Adelante.
Goals were not the only ingredient displayed by Dongou, who also gave a great show of speed, physical power and an ability to go past his man. After winning this coveted award that recognises him as the best player from his continent in the division, the Douala-born forward will look to continue developing and define an era wearing the Azulgrana shirt.
