Diego Simeone named Best Coach in LaLiga Santander 2015/16

Diego Pablo Simeone (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 28 April 1970) collected the Best Coach in LaLiga Santander 2015/16 award in recognition of an excellent season in the Atletico Madrid dugout.

The Madrilenians' success was yet again based around Simeone's key values of defensive solidity and teamwork. The Argentine's formula reaped its rewards as Atletico remained firmly in the title hunt right until the last, ultimately securing a commendable third-place finish, just three points behind the champions, FC Barcelona. During the course of an exceptional season, Atleti recorded 28 wins and four draws, whilst succumbing to defeat on six occasions.

The side's defensive record is worthy of special mention, as Atletico ended the campaign with the meanest defence in LaLiga Santander, after shipping just 18 goals all season.
