After Valencia CF and Athletic Club fought in their first games of the pre-season, the ball also rolled back for RC Deportivo la Coruña and Real Sociedad. While the Galician team won by 0-3 against SD Silva, the Basque side couldn't gain the upper hand against Celtic FC (1-0).
Deportivo debuted in sweet form in the 'Campo de O Roxo de Cerceda', and were the special guests in the dispute for the first edition of the Antonio Meirás Memorial. The Coruñés team were able to demonstrate their youthful vitality and quality against Silva, with Miguel Cardoso, Dani Iglesias and Rober as the goal scorers in the clash.

On the other hand, Real Sociedad were not able to leave with a triumph and lost 1-0 against Celtic in the first battle in their tour of Scotland. Saint Mirren Park stepped up and saw a very equal match, with big opportunities for both sides, but the victory finally fell towards the home side thanks to a goal by Mackay-Stevens.
