Courtois named LaLiga Santander Player of the Month for January

Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois has been crowned the LaLiga Santander Player of the Month for January. The Belgian glovesman sparkled in the first month of the year to lead his team to the top of the standings, with a record of three wins in as many games and just one goal conceded.

The Madrid custodian got January up and running with an inspired display at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, where he pulled off a string of noteworthy saves as Los Blancos brushed Getafe CF aside in a comfortable 3-0 win. In his next game, Sevilla FC came up against a colossal Courtois, who was an assured presence between the sticks as Madrid ran out 2-1 winners. To round off a perfect month, Courtois kept a clean sheet as Zinedine Zidane's charges eked out a 1-0 away triumph against R. Valladolid CF.

Courtois will collect his award in front of the Santiago Bernabeu faithful, before Real Madrid take on RC Celta on 16 February in a 21:00 (CET) kick-off.
