CA Osasuna face R. Zaragoza this Tuesday in the Liga Adelante matchday 23 fixture postponed due to heavy snowfall in the north of the peninsula. A match between two traditional big names who are out to keep their respective good runs going.
Ranko Popović’s side have claimed three wins in a row to surge into sixth place in the division and become firm contenders in the battle for the play-offs. The Navarre outfit, meanwhile, have now gone six matchdays without defeat, and a victory would help them to cut the gap on their opponents.
Team news
Zaragoza travel to Pamplona without the injured Jaime Romero, while Diego Rico is suspended due to accumulated yellow cards. For Osasuna, Jan Urban will be without Oier Sanjurjo and Jordan Lotiès as a result of their respective injuries.
Views of the teams
Popović discussed the difficulty of the clash in his pre-match press conference: "The game in Pamplona is a very important one, because of the rivalry we have and the moment it has come around. That has to bring special motivation. It’ll be a tough and competitive match and I hope that the team keep up the level of our recent games."
Osasuna player Raoul Loé is also aware of the positive form Zaragoza are enjoying. "They seem to be in good shape and they have a good team, but we go into it with high hopes. We’ve started the second half of the season with more confidence and I think we’re going to make the play-offs," declared the Cameroonian midfielder.
