Liga BBVA side Getafe FC presented its newest signing, Ciprian Marica, on Wednesday. The Romanian player told the media covering the event that his new club “is a good team that is always looking to do important things. I know it’s a small team but it is always looking to grow”.
The international striker explained that before signing his new contract he spoke about the Madrid outfit with Raúl González Blanco, the former Real Madrid player who Marica got to know during their time together at Schalke 04. “It was him who advised me to come to Getafe”, he declared.
Marica, who will wear the No. 9 jersey, assured the press that his new club and boss, Luis García Plaza, “know how to play. They’ve wanted me here since I came here with Stuttgart”. He also didn’t shy away from promising goals. “Scoring goals is important for me and I hope to score a lot”, he stated, before saying “the most important thing is to play because I want to continue enjoying my football”.
