FC Barcelona 2-1 Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Leverkusen, much more into the game from the early stages, had several arrivals on Ter Stegen´s goal, a warning of the danger that would generate. Chances that were the prelude to the first German goal. A corner kick to the near post made hesitate the goalkeeper and the Barça defense, and the central defender from the away team, Papadopoulos, gave a step forward to make the 0-1. In the second half, Barça tried to dominate the game and defend through possession. Neymar was the man who led the most dangerous arrivals to the German goal, but the news came over the middle of the second half, when Andres Iniesta was forced to get off the pitch injured. In the final stretch, Sergi Roberto and Luis Suarez took their chances to turn the result and achieve their first triumph in the Champions League.
Olympique Lyonnais 0-1 Valencia CF
An open match and full of excitement. So were the 90 minutes at the Stade de Gerland. Abdennour was forced off injured and although in the end Hubert Fournier´s men pressed to get the equalizer, the 0-1 was final, and the “Che" team achieved its first victory in the Champions League.
