AD Alcorcon 0-0 Valladolid CF
Even points at Santo Domingo in a match where parity dominated. Valladolid, who had got at least a point out of each of their last three games, and Alcorcon, with two consecutive defeats, played a contested game without any clear control by any side.
SD Huesca 3-1 Albacete B.
Huesca end their five game losing streak with this victory, the second at home this season. The home effectiveness was key to take the three points, because Albacete was in control throughout the match. Machis was lethal on the away defence: he scored two goals and assisted for the third, finished by Merida. On Albacete’s side, Paredes scored.
UE Llagostera 0-0 CD Lugo
There was a sever lack of aim at Palamos and the game ended with a goalless draw, despite the chances. This daw is useless for the home side, who haven’t had a victory yet in 2016 and will stay for another week in relegation spots. Lugo, on the other side, will remain at the middle of the league. The Galician team had two clear opportunities: in the 10th minutes a shot by Iriome and a Caballero header that went over the post. Benja could have scored inside the box, but Jose Juan stopped him.
Cordoba CF 2-3 CD Leganes
Leganes turned the tables in a crazy game at Nuevo Arcangel. Five goals, three penalties, three red cards and a field player playing in goal. Everything happened at Cordoba, who lose the second position after this defeat. It was a vital game between two teams who are fighting for promotion. The Andalusian side started ahead with a goal by Raul de Tomas from the penalty spot. Alex Szymanowski equalized. In the second half, Raul Tomas scored another penalty. In the 85th minute it seemed like Cordoba was going to take the win, but Razak was sent off and Omar Ramos equalized again. The oddest thing was that Luso, a midfielder, had to play in goal because Cordoba had no subs. Omar Ramos scored to seal the comeback.
The home side dominated most of the game. In the midfield, possession and danger belonged to Oviedo, who opened the score through Borja Valle in the 11th minute. Toquero equalized in the second half. Even points, which extend the lead for Alaves.
UD Almeria 2-1 R. Zaragoza
Important victory for the Andalusian side, who are still fighting to get out of relegation positions. After an even first half, Chuli was decisive for the home team. Two goals by the striker in the 53rd and 60th minutes brought joy to Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos, who would see their team win despite Angle’s goal five minutes from the end.
SD Ponferradina 0-2 RCD Mallorca
Second consecutive victory for the Balearic side since Fernando Vazquez took over as manager. They had signed new player which helped to secure the three points thanks to Pereira and Andy goals. The first came from a penalty and the second was by the home midfielder in his own goal.
Bilbao Athletic 0-1 Elche CF
A victory that brings hope of promoting for Elche who are climbing to the tops positions. Ruben Baraja’s men were able to take the three points with Alex Moreno’s only goal, assisted by Espinosa. Things could have changed for the home side, but Aketxe missed a penalty which hit the post.
CD Numancia 1-1 Girona FC
The team from Soria missed out on the three points right at the end, when Lekic equalized. Before that, Luis Valcarce had opened the score for Jagoba Arrasate’s men in a game which stood out for its general parity.
Gimnastic de Tarragona 2-1 CD Tenerife
Nastic stay strong in the play-off positions with a hard victory against the Canary side. Achille Emana opened the score for Vicente Moreno’s men with a great header and Naranjo extended the lead just before halftime. Omar was able to reduce the difference, but that would be the closest they could get to equalizing.
CD Mirandes 4-0 At. Osasuna
In the last game of the match day, CD Mirandes didn’t give At. Osasuna the chance of getting back into direct promotions positions and beat them easily. Two penalties gave Eguaras the chance to score the first two goals for the home side, who would then take advantage of Flaño and Merino red cards to double the lead with Nestor Salinas and Abdon Prats goals.
