Real Madrid Castilla has had its fair share of bad luck so far in this Liga Adelante season. The team coached by Alberto Toril is yet to open its account, and is in the red with seven losses from seven matches, the last one coming on Sunday against CD Tenerife (1-0). Castilla, which is at the bottom of the Liga Adelante, will now be trying to get out of the rut as soon as possible.
The Real Madrid reserves' current situation is largely due to a lack of goals. The Castilla players have only managed to find the net twice in the seven matches they have played, which explains their position in the table. Toril has explained on several occasions that his team's problem lies in poor finishing and a lack of composure in the opponent's area, as they generate danger but do not manage to convert enough of the chances they creates.
Despite the bad results Real Madrid Castilla is not lacking shape on the pitch. It has only lost one match by more than one goal (against FC Barcelona B, 2-0). The rest of the defeats could not have been narrower and the team has conceded ten goals in seven games, less than four of the teams above them in the league.
With an average age of a little over 21, Real Madrid Castilla came into this season with a new-look squad with nine new players in the starting line-up, most of them from lower divisions. Youth and lack of experience appear to be holding them back early in the season.
