Campaign against violence in football

The Liga de Fútbol Profesional, together with the Asociación de Federaciones Españolas de Fútbol (AFEPE), are to start a combined initiative in the stadiums of sides playing at home on matchdays 14 and 15 of Liga BBVA and 16 and 17 of Liga Adelante, to show their direct rejection of violence in football.

One of the actions will be the displaying of a canvas with the slogan "Fans + respect = The true spirit of football" on the pitch. This canvas will be displayed with the two starting line-ups on the pitch before the games, when the following statement will be read:

"The Liga de Fútbol Profesional, (home team and away team), condemn any act of violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance that happens in professional football. The Football League and clubs are working alongside Aficiones Unidas and State Security Forces to help end any kind of violence in sport".

This campaign will coincide with the Fair Play activities forecast for all matchday 16 Liga Adelante games, supported by the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (RFEF), Aficiones Unidas y el Comité Técnico de Árbitros. The refereeing team and the starting XIs from both sides will be accompanied by children wearing t-shirts carrying the message "Fair play in football".
