Las Palmas start
The Canary side had clearer ideas during the first few minutes, dominating possession. The home side, with their new manager, were more conservative at the beginning but gained control as the game went on.
Felipe Caicedo
The Ecuadorian forward was in charge of opening the score at Power8 Stadium once again. Javi Lopez crossed the ball from the right wing with great skill for the South American striker to bury it into the back of the net. This is Caicedo fifth goal in this Liga BBVA season.
Effectiveness
The alternate dominance throughout the match made the Catalan’s effectiveness key. Las Palmas tried it on Pau Lopez’s goal through striker Araujo and midfielder Nuzet, but they didn’t make ends meet. Espanyol, on the other hand, didn’t have many chances but were on point to score one of them.
Final doubts
Las Palmas attempted to fight back while Espanyol went in search of their second goal. The home striker had another opportunity to seal the game shortly after Hernan Perez had hit the woodwork. In the end, everything stayed as it was and the Catalan team take the three points.
